Nvidia offered a limited time program under which 3dfx owners could trade in their cards for Nvidia cards of equal performance value. As 3dfx focused more on the retail graphics card space, further inroads into the OEM space were limited. The Voodoo 5 never made it to market, due to a severe bug resulting in data corruption on the AGP bus on certain boards, and was limited to AGP 2x.
